A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a gold arrow, its shaft triparted in base and arched left and right with a five-pointed blue star at its center, all between an ermine spot and a fleur-de-lis all gold and all upon a red field enclosed by a blue scroll arched around base from the outer points of the arrowhead and inscribed ONWARD WITH SUPPORT in gold.
Buff (gold) and scarlet are the colors traditionally associated with Support units. The star and arrowhead are emblematic of leadership. The ermine spot and fleur-de-lis are used to refer to the service of elements of the 7th Support Group at stations in England, France and Germany during World War II. The star also symbolizes the units campaign participation in Rhineland during that same period.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 30 March 1982.
